M&M store in Times Square

I'm not THAT much of a fan of M&Ms chocolate- but if you visit this place you will. I bought soo many colours so that I can put them in jars to place inside my room since I'm heading back. I'm still thinking as to if I'm getting a flat this coming year or not. I pretty much want a flat just so that I can finally buy a puppy and to get a beige bike with a brown basket infront... SO THEN I can have these pretty M&Ms in my room displayed against my window still! I will post a photo soon of what I bought from here!

Mary Poppins, my first broadway show

So today Timothy and I went to watch our FIRST BROADWAY SHOW: MARY POPPINS. It was one incredible show. It was at the New Amsterdam Theatre on 42nd ST in Times Square. The theatre was was beautiful. We sat in the sixth row from the stage for only $159 which was IDEAL. The Broadway shows are so worth the money I think! The SET DESIGNS BLEW MY MIND. I don't even know how I'm suppose to describe what it was like. Just- you couldn't even imagine how mind blowing it was... My jaw dropped as each set came up and down from out of nowhere. The actors and actresses were flawless in their dancing, swinging, wire flying, and singing. THEY are living the American Dream day in and day out. They run shows twice a day and I thought they had several a actors and actresses to take turns in the shows but there is only one for each- so it's pretty much their job to sing and dance and swing.- TWICE a day, -7 days a week....! INSANE.

Cupcake Galore

So staying with my Auntie here in New Jersey means that I travel to NY on the bus- it's ONLY 30 minutes - which is fantastic! And I get off at Port Authority in New York City near Time Square which is seriously ideal to go anywhere around Manhattan. And right near the New Amsterdam Theatre on Broadway and 42nd street is a glorious cupcake store called CRUMBS. I think this is the 4th time I've had them. They are NOT one person size portions. They are huge. As you can see- as big as my entire palm. And they are beautiful and delicious to eat. The Americans here just bite into it- but Timothy and I being asian used spoons or forks to dig through it alongside a killer Americano from starbucks. Being in NY- I feel like I'm living a dream. I didn't take my camera so had to use my iphone- but it does well :)

My two favourite shoes

So.. Currently, I am pretty proud of how many shoes I've purchased. As you know, I am a compulsive decider which makes me buy things I love compulsively. So I get OBSESSED with buying shoes. BUT.. Here, I have only bought THREE. I got red/brown leather loafers from Michael Kors, MY SPARKLY SHOES FROM TOP SHOP in Soho and beneath are my shiny silver Doc Martins. I wear my DOCS EVERYWHERE! I'm not joking... haha. They are MY FAVOURITES. The most comfortable too which makes it the best fit for my New York walk arounds. As you can tell, they are severely worn.

New Sunnies from Woodbury

So yesturday I went to Woodburry Commons outlet. It was flippen FREEZING. No joke- I thought my legs were going to frost-bite itself off soon enough... :/ I only had stokings on with a shiffon shirt and dress and nearly suffered a painful death. Drama Queen I know... So shopping wasn't so great- but I did buy these neat Juicy Couture sunglasses! YEEEE <3 Yay or nay?

NEWS! NEWS! NEWS! I am coming home... you have no idea what this feels like...

So I had two interviews here in New York that offered me places in their magazine. One was in Celebritymagazine.com as an associate editor and Style.com as a member of the editorial management team in which they both offered me working visas for USA.

Celebritymagazine.com was a difficult one. Although, it was pretty much the most ideal position I could ever dream of- my job description consisted of taking advantage of strategic and manipulated language to make something which is false be interpreted as truth. So I was required in some circumstances to write articles of false celebrity rumour and gossip. Thats not what I stand for. So, I had to turn down the offer. After I did that, I struggled alot- turning down an incredible offer without any other positions to fall back on- I thought my future in New York was coming to an end- serious.

But then I was notified by recruiter Celia from Style.com Human resources that they wanted me to be apart of their Editorial Management Team, editing To-Be-Published digital content. Honestly- when I was called up for this offer, I cried. So much joy, and I really did feel like God was totally planting me into this whole thing. But before everything was finalized she said that the Editorial team needed some other sample editorials to be written for them to see. So she emailed me through a two page template with about 8 questions. Each required me to write full publish-able articles and editorials regarding current trends etc. I wrote them all up and sent it over. A couple of weeks later... I got a call from Style.com... THEY OFFERED ME A WORKING VISA. In the US you can only apply for it during the time of August, but they said that through them they can have it all completed ready for April. I was outside in New York city at the time 7th Avenue... and I cried myself all the way to the end of the street. I didn't need to feel so overly anxious. I was going to live the American Dream. The ideal American Dream. What I've wanted for so long.

But, I called up my family to tell them of the great news and to talk about my apartment etc etc. But then, in a glimpse my mum replied to me "You're not taking any job, you can go back to New York once you finish your masters degree." No negotiation can be made with my mum. So I just cried and cried and cried some more over the phone with dad. Dad said he would try to persuade her. But seriously... I am finalized to go back home on the 13th of Jan to Korea and back into New Zealand on the 16th of February to complete my masters degree. My dream job offer had to be turned down, I am going home. You know how I feel.

My beautiful cousins.

Here are my gorgeous cousins whom I love with all my heart! David and Jen.

David is a little shy, loves computer games and is super intelligent. He is now a highschool graduate going to college- as they so call uni- and he's been accepted to North Eastern with a huge scholarship! So proud of him. But he's weighing up some other places, so I'm really excited to hear the news! He's such a humble wee kid.

Then there is Jennifer. Always sacrificing for others. She is sleeping in the same bed with me every night- that I already respect her for, and there is also tim in the same little room. I'm sure she is sick of me already with my annoying quirks and mannerisms. But she has been super welcoming and comforting. With a spirit and heart of Gold, I am honoured she is my cousin!

Christmas Day Family Fun.

So Korean people generally don't celebrate christmas that much- no sorry that is a super unsafe generalization. My immediate fam don't make it a big deal. But AMERICANS LOVE THEIR CHRISTMAS! And it was honestly the bet experience. All these lovely presents under a killer xmas tree. Lights EVERYWHERE IN THE STREETS! So on xmas day my auntie, cousins, Tim and I all headed out to a delicious Japanese Food Buffet and then we went bowling! It was sooo much fun! It made me love Christmas once again!

Rookie- my new best friends.

So you all know how obsessed I get over puppies and dogs despite my intense skin allergies to dog and cat fur. My auntie and uncle own this little cutie. He is soooo cute. I always think it's a really weird feeling when you feel that something is cute. Like, when something is super cute and you just stop and think about what makes you feel like it's cute... yeah I dunno. Anyway, I introduce to you OUR (yes 'our' now, I love her so much!) dog ROOKIE. The cutest little thing that EVER entered my life!

To Soho with Timothy.

So, lovely Timothy is staying with me at my cousins place! He's a friend of hers and they met in Taiwan when she went to study abroad there! So we both decided to go on an outing to NY together since we were both heading the same way! SO... we went to SOHO :) Soho isn't AS amazinggg as everyone says. It's quite neat but there isn't anything that special. I prefer Greenwich Village more than Soho. After a little shop around in Soho, we headed to Korea Town at West 32nd near Broadway. I MET THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MAN. He was the waiter at the Korean Dinner place we went to- he looked EXACTLY the same as the Korean Singer called Seven. He can most definitely pass as him. We had a little chat and he made me go a little red. HA.

Great food.

So far, I haven't really had any super duper famous American Food. Oh no, I lie... I had food from The cheese cake factory and the famous pizza place in Greenwich Village. But below are some shots that bring a smile to my face- all was so delish! I think it may have been because I would walk around New York City ALL day and then have one meal when I'm really hungry- which made everything much more tastier than it most probably actually is.

Strawberries on French Toast at Melrose in LA. Latte and Breakie all ready for me. I LOVE travelling alone. The lovely man that made this for me customized the recipe just for me! He was really lovely and such a delight! His dog sits outside nice and sensibly watching everyone that eats outside and then comes and gives you a little kiss when you say goodbye! He was ADORABLE. oh man, I miss LA already :(

THE AMERICAN HOT DOG. Dum dum dum... haha. So in Manhattan there are food stands EVERYWHERE. No joke. I'm being for real. So I thought... okay the hot dog is something I have to have to be a New Yorker. I thought it was SO expensive for what it is... $3 for a teeeeenie hotdog.. literally only like 4 to 5 bites. HAHA. But seriously... in the freezing cold, it was flippen delicious!

MoMA (Museum of Modern Art)+The Solomon Guggenheim Museum

So MoMa off Fifth Avenue was a lovely treat. Going through a beautiful modern art museum. Usually with alot of art museums that I've been too- there has always been a consistent pattern in the art forms. Whether it be sculpture of simple 2d pieces. But MoMA was a lovely treat with unexpected exhibitions. My favs of from MoMa was the Red civil defense protection that protestors wore (read below) and DUNNIES! I personally collect Kidrobot Dunnies so my heart jumped when they appeared behind the glass windows.

Guggenheim was a mission to find. My uncle decided to drop me off- in which I was super super DUPER thankful and delighted. But my drop off made everyone else in the car super duper late for all their other plans which made everyone a little upset. So I felt super super bad :( but in the end all was fun! Guggenheim is lovely to walk through. With a kickass audio tour in hand I walked through each exhibition with my heart fluttering at different art work. I get a remote and when I want to hear about one specific piece of art I just press the number into it that it's designated to.. and then follows the curators explanation of that art piece and I inevitably fell in love.
